Agricon expands into Slovakia and the Czech Republic | 29.09.2021

Roman Vido and Hermann Leithold

The medium-sized and independent precision farming specialist has a new partner in Eastern Europe based in Sered', east of Bratislava. The newly founded Agricon Czechia-Slovakia s.r.o. will exclusively take care of the two markets Czech Republic and Slovakia.

After entering the Baltic market in 2010, Hungary, Romania, Ukraine, Poland and most recently Serbia and Croatia followed. In these Eastern European countries, there was growing demand for opportunities to manage arable land on a site-specific basis. Being close to customers on the farms is one of the success factors for the introduction of precision farming solutions. The new partner in Slovakia and the Czech Republic closes the gap in Central Europe. For the farms, this means even shorter distances to their contact person and no language barriers.

"We are delighted about the trust placed in us. We will now bring the best precision farming solution from Germany to us. The farms in both countries are professionally set up and appreciate Westtechnik. Nevertheless, the precision farming market is very underdeveloped. There is a huge potential here for the farms," explains Roman Vido, Managing Director of Agricon Czechia-Slovakia s.r.o.. Hermann Leithold, Managing Director of Agricon GmbH, further explains: "Precision farming is not a tool, but a solution. It has to be planned and implemented with professionals on site at the farms. With Roman and his team, we now have these professionals for the region. Our systems are holistic and have been successfully adapted in many European countries over the years. Moreover, they allow us to provide our Agricon-quality solutions from day one.".
